The Cine Bijou Podcast is back and with the latest episode it’s taking things to the ‘max’. Storyteller Alejandro Vilpa‘s streaming platform will go live on January 31st. Vilpa Max, might not give streaming giants Netflix a run for their home, it will be the home for short films. From Oscar contenders to rising star introductions Vilpa Max will showcase the very best of bijou cinema for all to enjoy.

Alejandro is an author specializing in crime thrillers with hint of noir a la Mickey Spillane and Raymond Chandler. Looking to expand his storytelling skills, Alejandra founded Vilpa Films. The company is behind the distribution of award winning and notable short films; these include Cyrus Neshvad’s powerful drama ‘The Red Suitcase’. Recently Vilpa Films released ‘What if the Sun Dies’ written and directed by Amirhossein Rokni which premiered at the HollyShorts Dubai festival. Alejandro has also set his sights on his own filmmaking ambitions with his debut short film ‘The Undertone of David Jansen‘ due out this year.

In this episode, however, the focus of our conversation was on Alejandro’s most ambitious project yet. Vilpa Max a streaming platform exclusively showcasing the wide variety of short films. Far from taking on the streaming giants Netflix and Apple TV, Vilpa Max offers something truly unique: a platform exclusively for short films. We talked to Alejandro about his work as both a novelist and filmmakers. We also explored the inspiration behind and challenges facing his new venture.
